Dr. Michael Lang is an Associate Professor in Business Information Systems.
His research and teaching areas are information systems education, information systems security and ethics, database technologies and analytics, and business systems analysis & design.
Dr. Lang’s work has featured in leading international journals such as Journal of Information Systems Education, ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction, Journal of Cybersecurity, ACM Digital Threats: Research & Practice, Information and Computer Security, Information Systems Management, Communications of the AIS, Information and Software Technology, Requirements Engineering, IEEE Software and IEEE Multimedia.
His work has been presented at several international forums, including the European Conference on Information Systems, International Conference on Information Systems, International Conference on Information Systems Development, and the international conferences of IFIP TC-8, IFIP TC-11, AIS Special Interest Group on Education (SIGED), AIS Special Interest Group on Security (SIGSEC), and AIS Special Interest Group on Systems Analysis & Design (SIGSAND).
He is Associate Editor for the Journal of Information Systems Education, the premier dedicated journal on educational research and practice within the discipline of information systems. He is also a member of the Executive Steering Committee of the International Conference on Information Systems Development.
He has received several nominations and awards for teaching excellence over the course of his career at the university.
