Prof. Siobhán Corrigan is the Director of the postgraduate Cert/Diploma/MSc in Managing Risk & System Change and Assistant Director for the Centre for Innovative Human Systems (CIHS) (https://www.tcd.ie/cihs/. Siobhán’s research focuses on understanding the functioning of socio-technical systems and human factors in order to support industry with the complexities of managing change and improving overall risk and safety performance. A key focus of her recent research is on understanding human factors and organisational dimensions impacting the adoption, acceptability and implementation of AI and strategic intelligent technologies. The aim of this research is to contribute an understanding towards successful data-driven transformation that avoids the pitfalls of innovation performed without consideration to human factors.

Siobhán leads a team of interdisciplinary researchers focusing on the application of human factors and systems thinking across a range of industrial sectors including health, aviation, emergency services, finance, transportation and pharmaceutical. Siobhán is also a certified Human Factors trainer and Active in various research working groups, she contributes significantly as a member of the ERTRAC (European Road Transport Research Advisory Council) responsible for setting the objectives for the next Strategic Research Agenda 2022-2026, and a member of CCAM (EU Partnership in Connected and Cooperative Automated Mobility). She has published widely in her area and has considerable editorial experience both in editing Special Issue Journal Articles and books. She is currently on the Editorial Board with the journal Ergonomics, peer reviewer for the Journal of Safety Science & the Journal of Cognition Technology & Work. and co-editor of a special issue in the journal healthcare entitled Innovative Approaches for Safety Culture Improvement in Healthcare systems.
