Dr Goetz Botterweck is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland (since 2021) and with Lero – The SFI Centre for Software Research (since 2007).

His research interests include:

  • Software Engineering for AI/ML, AI/ML for Software Engineering, Application of Generative AI in Software Engineering
  • Design Space Exploration (using ML and Optimisation), Interactive Configuration
  • Variability in Software, Software Product Line Engineering
  • Developer Experience, Effects of Tools (including Generative AI) on Developer Experience
  • CS/SE Education
  • Model-driven Engineering, in particular when applied in the above areas

Goetz serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning (UG) of the School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin.

He holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Diplom-Informatiker (Computer Science and Information Systems) from the University of Koblenz, Germany, and an M.A. in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship from the University of Limerick.
